Question: Is it known that differing in secondary affairs of the Religion, with certain conditions, is permissible. So, what are the conditions that make differing in ‘Aqīdah allowable?
Answer: By Allāh, I do not see anything that makes differing in ‘Aqīdah permissible. As for what relates to the Companions, from what some people ascribe to them as differing in affairs of ‘Aqīdah, for indeed they did not differ in the least. With the Will of Allāh, this issue will be discussed more in our study of this work, ‘Usūl us-Sunnah’.
