  1. Happy are those who avoid the destructive paths and aim for the stations of [Allāh’s] pleasure.

  2. For they are the ones who were sincere in traversing [the path] (whilst) implementing the legislature of Ēmān (Faith).
  3. And they are the ones who built the stations of their journey between hope and fear of Al-Dayyān.
  4. And they are the ones who whose hearts the Deity (Allāh) filled with love of Him and love of Ar-Rahmān.
  5. And they were the ones who were plentiful in His remembrance in the secret, in the open, and in all situations.
  6. They seek closeness to the King, Owner (Al-Malīk), through working obedience and abandoning disobedience.
  7. Performing obligations and the voluntary deeds is their way (habit) whilst seeing shortcoming and deficiency (in that).
  8. They trained their souls to show patience over all dislikeable things, hoping to attain what that contains of benevolence (goodness).
  9. They entered the station of [Allāh’s] pleasure, and by way of that, they became shielded and secure.
  10. With the heart, statements and (performance of) the pillars they were grateful to the One who favoured the creatures with His bounty.
  11. They maintained tawakkul (reliance) in all their affairs alongside striving to earn the pleasure of Ar-Rahmān.
  12. They worshipped the [One true] Deity [Allāh] whilst believing (firmly) in His presence, so they exonerated themselves by (attaining) the station of Al-Ihsān.
  13. They gave sincere advice to the creation about (striving to) please their Beloved, through knowledge, guidance and benevolence.
  14. They accompanied the creation with their bodies whilst their souls were (yearning) for the higher station.
  15. Verily, it is for Allāh (and with His aid) that I called the creation and gatherings (of people), all of them (to Allāh), out of fear of the decrease of Ēmān (Faith).
  16. They turned the hearts away from all preoccupations; they have emptied them from what is besides Ar-Rahmān.
  17. Their movements, concerns and (firm) resolutions are for (the sake of) Allāh, not for the creation and shaytān.
  18. How excellent a companion (is the one so described above) for the seeker of the paths which lead to goodness and benevolence.
